Quick answer
Pick by the job SleepScore Max used to do: a nightstand tracker with nothing to wear.
- Same nightstand, no-wearable idea: Hatch Sleep Clock, $249.99 as listed on hatch.co in October 2026. A low-power radio sensor tracks breathing, movement and presence. Sleep tracking needs no subscription. Hatch+ is included for 30 days.
- Bedside radar with more data: Sleepal AI Lamp, $399 as listed in Tom's Guide in October 2026. 60GHz radar plus snoring, temperature, light and sound. Optional AI+ is $5.99/mo or $69.99/yr. Basic tracking is free.
- Cheapest bedside: Google Nest Hub (2nd gen), $99.99 as listed on Google Store in October 2026. Soli radar tracks one person.
- Under the mattress: Withings Sleep Analyzer, $199.95 as listed on Withings in October 2026. Data is free. Withings+ is optional at $9.95/mo or $99.50/yr.
- Under the sheet: OZI, $199 as listed on ozisleep.com in October 2026. No subscription. No camera or mic.
- Position timeline (wait): Komori Care, coming 2027, wellness only.
If you still have a Nest Hub on the nightstand, see Nest Hub sleep sensing alternatives. If you wanted a wake-up light with tracking, see Halo Rise alternatives.

Hatch Sleep Clock
Nightstand clock plus contactless tracking. Hatch says the sensor uses "a fraction of the energy of your WiFi router" and reads breathing, movement and presence from a few feet away (how it works). Sleep data is not behind a subscription. Hatch+ audio is a separate 30-day trial.
Sleepal AI Lamp
Bedside lamp with 60GHz mmWave radar. Tom's Guide lists $399, with AI+ optional after a free month. Sunrise light, snoring and room sensors sit on top of the sleep data. This is the closest "more data on the nightstand" swap.
Nest Hub (2nd gen)
Cheapest radar display on this list. Google's FAQ says it tracks a single person, and another person or a pet in the same spot "will affect your data" (Sleep Sensing FAQ). Keep it if you already live in Google Home. Don't buy it as a dedicated SleepScore Max clone.
Withings Sleep Analyzer and OZI
If the nightstand was never the point, put the sensor in the bed. Withings slides under the mattress. OZI sits under the sheet and has a multi-bed dashboard. Neither is sonar.
Komori Care (coming 2027)
Two-piece bedside radar: sensor above the headboard, base on the nightstand. Designed for a back/side/stomach timeline, not stage labels. One-press top button cuts sensing. Optional camera records to an encrypted SD card.

FAQ
Is SleepScore Max discontinued? AppBrain says the iOS app was removed from the App Store on Oct 13, 2024, and last updated April 16, 2021. We couldn't find a current official place to buy the hardware. That is not the same as a company statement that the product line is discontinued.
What replaced SleepScore Max? Nothing official replaced it. Closest nightstand jobs: Hatch for a clock plus tracking, Sleepal for radar plus environment data, Nest Hub if you want the cheapest radar display.
Does any SleepScore Max alternative work without a subscription? Hatch sleep tracking is included. OZI says no subscription ever. Withings core data is free. Sleepal basic tracking is free; AI+ is optional. Nest Hub's FAQ says a Sleep Sensing preview is included "until next year" at no additional cost. Quote that as written. Don't treat it as a forever promise.
Is sonar the same as radar? No. SleepScore Max used sonar. Hatch uses a low-power radio sensor. Sleepal, Nest Hub and Komori use radar. Different physics, same idea: nothing on your body.
Does Komori ship now? No. Coming 2027. Waitlist. For something tonight: Hatch, Sleepal, Nest Hub, Withings or OZI.
