Komori's alert engine is powered entirely by radar — no camera, no video, no images. Every alert works without a camera. If you choose to connect your own RTSP-compatible camera, video clips are captured only around flagged events and stored locally on your device. You decide whether any clip is saved, shared, or deleted. The camera is always optional, always under your control, and never required for any alert to function.
Your Recordings Never Leave Your Nightstand
Audio and video clips are encrypted on the device's SD card and stay there. They never touch our servers. Access them from your app only when you're on the same network as your Komori.
Want remote access? You can opt in to cloud backup — but it's OFF by default, end-to-end encrypted, and we literally cannot see or hear your recordings even on our own servers. Only your app can decrypt them.
No other sleep monitor makes this commitment. Most stream video to their cloud. We don't even have access to yours.

My twin boys got sepsis in the NICU. One of them was infected three times — the only documented case. All I wanted was to know they were okay.
Those nights changed everything for me. I couldn't stop thinking about how helpless it felt to not know what was happening while someone you love is sleeping. That question — "are they okay right now?" — never really left me. It followed me through 20 years of building data systems, through designing Owlet's data pipeline, through leading technology at SAMi Alert. Every role taught me something, but the question was always the same.
