Nest Hub (2nd gen) is $99.99 as listed on Google Store in October 2026. Motion Sense uses low-power radar to detect movement and breathing. Optional microphone sound tracking covers coughs and snores. It tracks a single person. Google's FAQ says another person or a pet in the same spot "will affect your data," and that Sleep Sensing is "not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, prevent or treat any disease or condition" (Sleep Sensing FAQ).

9to5Google (Jul 31, 2026) reports that strings in the Google Home app show Sleep Sensing moving from Google Fit to Google Health, and that "All data is processed locally and does not leave the Nest Hub" (9to5Google). 9to5Google (Oct 13, 2026) notes there has been no new Nest Hub hardware in about five years (9to5Google).

Disclosure: I am Dovy, founder of Komori Care. Contactless bedside radar for sleep position, coming 2027, wellness only, not FDA-cleared. Komori Lite $399, Komori with base $799. One-press top button cuts sensing. Optional camera records to an encrypted SD card.

    Quick answer

    • Komori Care (2027): position timeline. One-press top button cuts sensing.

    Hatch Sleep Clock

A dedicated nightstand clock. Contactless tracking of breathing, movement and presence. No Google Home required.

    Sleepal AI Lamp

More sensors on the nightstand: 60GHz radar plus snoring, temperature, light and sound. Optional AI+ is $5.99/mo or $69.99/yr after a free month. Basic tracking is free.

    Withings and OZI

If you will put something in the bed, a mat or under-sheet strip is a different job than a smart display. Withings: one person per sensor. OZI: household dashboard, no camera or mic.

    Komori Care (coming 2027)

Contactless bedside radar for a back/side/stomach timeline (design intent). One-press top button cuts sensing. Optional camera records to an encrypted SD card. Designed local-first with optional cloud sync.

    FAQ

Is Nest Hub sleep sensing going away? No announcement. 9to5Google reports the data is moving from Google Fit to Google Health. App strings are evidence of intent, not timing.

Does Nest Hub track two people? No. Google's FAQ says Sleep Sensing tracks a single person. Another person or a pet in the same spot or between you and the Hub will affect your data.

Does Nest Hub need a subscription? Google's FAQ: when you purchase Nest Hub (2nd gen), it includes a preview of Sleep Sensing. "You can use it until next year with no additional cost." Quote that. Don't interpret it.

Nest Hub vs Hatch Sleep Clock? Nest Hub is a $99.99 Google display with Soli radar. Hatch is a $249.99 sleep clock with contactless tracking and a sunrise alarm. Different jobs.

Does Komori work with Google Home? Not announced.
