Sleep Tracker for Shift Workers | Night Shift, Rotating Schedules & Split Sleep
Dovy Paukstys
Founder, Komori Care
Most sleep apps assume 10 p.m. If you work nights, rotating 12s, or split sleep around on-call, you need a planner that treats those hours as normal, plus a tracker that still logs sleep at 9 a.m. Those are different jobs.
Disclosure: I am Dovy, founder of Komori Care. Contactless bedside radar for sleep position, coming 2027, wellness only, not FDA-cleared. Komori Lite $399, Komori with base $799. One-press top button cuts sensing. Optional camera records to an encrypted SD card.
Quick answer
Schedule-aware planning
- CircaFlow (circaflow.app): Free Android planner. Daily sleep window, caffeine cutoff, light/nap notes, sleep diary, ESS and ISI questionnaires, 30-day history. Clinician PDF is Pro, not free. Pro is €5.99/month, €59.99/year, or €119.99 lifetime on the vendor's free-tier page. Not a medical device.
- ShiftNight (shiftnight.com): iPhone visual timeline. Sleep zones, caffeine cutoff, optional Apple Watch / Health. $14.99/month or $59.99/year (7-day trial on annual). Not $4.99 / $14.99 — that older figure is wrong. Oura integration is "coming soon" per the vendor.
Automatic tracking
- Oura Ring 4 (from $349 + $5.99/month, ouraring.com): Wearable. Membership is $5.99/month or $69.99/year; first month free for new members. Silver/Stealth $349, several finishes $399. HRV-based staging is Oura's pitch for sleep that does not happen at a conventional bedtime. We are not repeating an unverified third-party "12 minutes vs Apple Watch" scoreboard.
- RISE (risescience.com): Phone-based sleep-debt coaching. Wearables optional. Free tier plus a paid upgrade; confirm current premium pricing in the app.
Contactless tracking (no wearable)
- Withings Sleep Analyzer ($199.95): Under-mattress. Works at any clock hour. No shift planner.
- OZI Sleep Tracker ($199): Under-sheet, multi-bed dashboard.
- Komori Care (coming 2027): Position timeline. No shift planner.

Two jobs, not one gadget
Planning: when to sleep after a 7 a.m. clock-out, when to cut caffeine, whether a 90-minute pre-shift nap is worth it. CircaFlow and ShiftNight are built for that.
Logging: what actually happened, including split sleep and daytime main sleeps. A mat or a ring can log this. They will not rewrite your caffeine cutoff when the roster changes.
Pair them if you want both.
CircaFlow
Android only. Add work hours (fixed nights, rotating blocks, on-call). The app builds a daily plan. Free tier covers the plan, diary, ESS/ISI, and 30 days of history. PDF export, unlimited history, rotation templates, and Health Connect are Pro (€5.99/month).
More: circaflow.app/night-shift-sleep-app.
ShiftNight
iPhone. Visual timeline of shifts, sleep zones, caffeine, recovery. Paid subscription required for app content: $14.99/month or $59.99/year on shiftnight.com/pricing and the App Store. Vendor says it is a planning tool, not a diagnosis.
Oura Ring 4
Ring from $349 plus membership. Useful if you will wear it on a rotating roster and want automatic staging. Not schedule-aware planning. Not contactless.
Withings and OZI
Contactless logging that does not care what the clock says. Pair with CircaFlow or ShiftNight if you also want a plan. Withings $199.95. OZI $199.
Komori Care (coming 2027)
Position timeline for people whose shift-work question is actually "am I on my back all morning." Lite $399, with base $799. One-press top button. Optional encrypted SD camera. Wellness only. Waitlist.

FAQ
Best night-shift tracker? There isn't one shelf. CircaFlow for an Android plan, ShiftNight for an iPhone timeline, Oura if you will wear a ring, Withings if you want a mat.
Do regular watches work on daysleep? Some degrade when the window leaves night. Oura's pitch is HRV that does not use "it is 11 p.m." as a shortcut. A mat does not use time-of-day either.
Is CircaFlow's doctor PDF free? No. Diary and scores are free. PDF is Pro.
Does Komori ship? No. Coming 2027.
