Somnofy Alternative: Radar Sleep Monitors You Can Actually Buy (2026)
Dovy Paukstys
Founder, Komori Care
Somnofy is made by VitalThings in Trondheim, Norway. Vitalthings' own site says Somnofy "is currently used primarily in research" (Norwegian: "brukes i dag primært i forskning"). It measures presence, sleep and restlessness through the night plus an individual average breathing rate, contactless, with no camera (somnofy.com redirects to Vitalthings).
A 2024 study of older adults used Somnofy in a sleep laboratory and notes it "does not provide heart rate estimates" (PMC11387924). Our best radar sleep monitor page still treats Somnofy as the strongest published validation on that shelf. That stands. This page answers a different question: what can you actually buy.
Consumer price: a third-party review on harlerunner.de says "ca. 350 Euro" and that the device needs Wi-Fi (harlerunner.de). No current list price was found.
Disclosure: I am Dovy, founder of Komori Care. Contactless bedside radar for sleep position, coming 2027, wellness only, not FDA-cleared. Komori Lite $399, Komori with base $799. One-press top button cuts sensing. Optional camera records to an encrypted SD card.
Quick answer
- Buy-now bedside radar: Sleepal AI Lamp, $399 as listed in Tom's Guide in October 2026.
- Cheapest radar: Nest Hub (2nd gen), $99.99 as listed on Google Store in October 2026. One person.
- Nightstand radio sensor plus alarm: Hatch Sleep Clock, $249.99 as listed on hatch.co in October 2026.
- Wall-mounted 60GHz: wellune-A1, $165.55 "reference price" on wellune's Chinese product page, no subscription. wellune says it is wellness, not medical. Don't assume US availability (wellune-A1).

- Position-first radar (wait): Komori Care, coming 2027.

Sleepal, Hatch, Nest Hub
Sleepal is the bedside 60GHz lamp you can order. Hatch is a clock with a low-power radio sensor, not the same as Somnofy radar, but it is a nightstand tracker you can buy. Nest Hub is the cheap Soli display for one sleeper.
wellune-A1
Wall-mounted 60GHz radar. No camera, no mic, no monthly subscription on the current package. wellune: "wellune-A1 is for wellness and everyday sleep tracking. It does not provide a medical diagnosis." Multiple people in the sensing area may affect measurements. This is not a US checkout we can point to.
Withings Sleep Analyzer
Not radar. One mat, one sleeper. Included because some Somnofy shoppers actually want overnight presence and breathing trends, not a research radar.
Komori Care (coming 2027)
Contactless 60GHz bedside radar (engineering notes). Back/side/stomach timeline (design intent). One-press top button cuts sensing. Optional camera records to an encrypted SD card.

Can I buy Somnofy in the US? Vitalthings says it is used primarily in research. We did not find a consumer US checkout.
How much does Somnofy cost? No current list price was found. A third-party German review said "ca. 350 Euro." Treat that as a third-party figure, not a shop price.
Is Somnofy accurate? See the published PSG comparisons on best radar sleep monitor. This page does not add new numbers.
Somnofy vs Sleepal? Somnofy is a research/care radar with published validation. Sleepal is a $399 consumer lamp with 60GHz radar and optional AI+. Different buyers.
Does Komori use the same radar as Somnofy? Don't assume that. Komori is 60GHz bedside radar per the engineering post. Band is not the same as a shared chip, firmware or validation set.
